Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Inspired by Willum's post, I decided I would have some fun and experiment with Touge Racing. As he explained, its a race on one lane with the winner being the car who is able to get the furthest away from his opponent when he is at the front. It turned out to be so much fun that I decided to make another video. haha. I've always wanted to add in a corner to my track, but I didn't have the tools available to do it in a side-by-side race. For this however, I did! Here is a picture:

Awesome video!

I really like the idea of adding curves and making a "road course" - as your video showed, some cars were able to pull away in a straight line but were left vulnerable in the turns. Over a long track, this could produce a really interesting race.

I'm going to keep experimenting with the format. Might make a video myself!

Nice video, WorpeX....and Willum, I think its awesome that you've adapted a relatively in front of a fast car in hopes of encouraging passing(and/or contact )...it can be a lot of fun.

A lot of cars having trouble in turn 2.

Interesting...I see another type of racing game in this setup, kind of like a Hot Wheels Shoot the Moon.

So the setup is the same, downhill into a curve into a level straight of limited length. The straight after the curve has point markers at different lengths, points increasing the closer to the end of the track. Wherever the car stops is the point value they get, however the car must NOT roll off the end of the track. If it rolls off, no points...or maybe very few points.

The obvious challenge is picking a car that will roll far but not too far. And since there is a curve involved, you have to pick a car that can survive the turn but then need to also account for the drop in speed coming out of the curve.

It's not really racing per se but still requires knowledge of the cars and the effects of track and turns. Plus it could be a fun game to play live with others, drawing cars they think will do well and then trying it. Probably some other rules like the number of rounds or whatever...hmmm....the more I think about it, the more I might try to set something up and see how it works.

Thanks for the inspiration!!
