HalfFast Diecast Raceway
Martha will know where to find you...
Stoked!
Nice looking gate. I like the screw clamp on the bottom, simple but strong. I might have to steal that idea the next time I work on my track.
time for some race action!
Finally cut the 50ft track in half today.
We got a little more testing of our featherweights done. What a BIG difference having the ability to see how the cars perform BEFORE sending them in makes!
Now I need to come up with some velcro to help keep the track situated.
I found velcro with sticky backs at the local sewing store. I'm pretty sure Wal-Mart has the same stuff.
the boys in RI. used some washers, but they had problems just past the transition, they finally figured it out, the "spring" in the front axles would "lift" the cars when they crossed the washers just as the extra downforce was removed at the end of the transition... be careful where you put the velcro.. i would recommend none, or a solid strip through and past the transition...mattered much less in the incline or the runout...
Got a big roll of velcro at Home Depot for like $8 maybe. Cut it into little strips and put them ever few feet...best at the transition as well.
I still haven't gotten around to using the velcro yet. I have popsicle sticks every so often to keep the track from moving left to right, or side to side I guess I should say.
Excellent work Carl! Start gate looks sharp. Have fun!!
Thanks! I've got some velcro now, just gotta' get back on it.
Here's the 50-FOOT TRACK PAK that I got from a friend of mine a while back
Took it out of the box
It came with a couple of nice all metal cars
Here it is!
Bryan, of Austin Diecast Drags fame, suggested that I unroll the track and re-roll it inside out to help it lay flat. Now I'm just waiting overnight to set it up!
While waiting I set up a 24ft track using the two foot pieces that I bought from TRU right before Christmas. I tested a lot of my under 35g cars. Can't wait to test the faster ones on a seamless track.
