What Excites You The Most About Racing
I was just thinking about this as I'm currently constructing a new track. What is it that really excites a person when they come to a race? Is it the competition, the type of track, the speed of the cars, the track length, how big the starting ramp, or just seeing their car compete with other racers? I realize that there is limitations that all of us have, and we can only do so much to make this race exciting...so what do you think?

When it comes to Fantasy League racing, I get excited just seeing people play! Watching people rank up, unlock cars and just otherwise get involved is a win for me. The racing itself is pretty straight forward so the enjoyment I get is what enjoyment I can bring to the people playing. Although finding/trading for new cars to race is a lot of fun too.
Otherwise, thinking about track building probably excites me a bit more than modding cars. For some reason I have a hard time conceptualizing custom cars - the way that Smitty and others do. I just can't look a two cars and see how they would fit together when chopped up. I guess I just can "see" a track better and come up with ideas for how to build/make them and work.
I've always been more of a "support" person when it comes to projects. I am usually more interested in creating things that help people do a something than actually doing the something. The fun for me is the journey of organizing and building. When I create something that I then see others use and enjoy...that's nirvana.
For me, since I've built the track...its seeing the cars run the fastest they can run on two equal lanes, car against car slugging it out to the finish line! Yeah...I like the underdog thing too...its cool to see an unexpected car beat Mr. Bad Boy Bob and send him home with his tail between his legs.

Watching my kids win.
A good public announcer calling the races that gets excited about the races as well.
Close finishes.
Racing for prizes.
Winning a season long championship.
Knowing you have the fastest car that can't be touched when it hits the track.
